Tyler and Brayden spend the day at the park.
Brayden enjoyed his first time on the swings!
Rough day today for my little man Tyler.
We got a call from his school today to tell us that Tyler had an accident, hit his head and was bleeding!! Not the type of call you want to get as a parent.. I guess you never know how that feels until it happens. Needless to say, Ro and I dropped what we were doing and headed down to Tyler’s school.
When we got there, he was with his teachers and he looked like he was in shock. They told us what happened.. the class decided to take a little nature walk and they stopped at a park nearby. I guess Tyler was being adventurous and he was climbing up and down a play structure (with a ladder I guess). While he was climbing up, he slipped and fell forward, hitting his head. They were able to clean the wound and bandage it but it kept bleeding.
Apparently, he wouldn’t let anyone carry him back to the school though - he wanted to walk on his own!
So, we headed out to Richmond Hospital and sat in emergency for a while. It was pretty empty but still took over 2 hours. After the nurse took off the bandage she put on some numbing cream and let it sit for a while. So we had a bunch of family time sitting in a little hospital room trying to entertain two toddlers! Thank god we had a little care package of candies and cookies or we would have been in trouble! Here’s Tyler sporting his cool hospital outfit.

Poor little guy was hungry and it was nap time, but he was really good and brave. The doctor came in after a while and took a look at it.. looked pretty deep but he said it would only need one stitch. So we had to lay Tyler down and wrap him up (baby style!) and I held him down while they did a quick suture.
After it was all said and done, Tyler was doing ok. I’m sure it was pretty scary for the little guy but he came through it just fine. A quick trip to McDonalds for some nuggets, fries and milk helped too I’m sure.
Here he is all stitched up and ready for some food!
